Hair loss during menopause is mainly due to a hormonal imbalance, specifically a decrease in estrogen and progesterone.  These hormones help hair grow faster and stay on the head longer. When estrogen levels drop, hair growth slows and hair becomes thinner.

Hair loss in men can be caused by a variety of factors, including:

  • Genetics: Male pattern baldness, also known as male androgenetic alopecia, is a hereditary condition that causes hair to thin and recede in a predictable pattern. This pattern usually starts at the front and sides of the scalp and progresses to the back.

  • Hormones: Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a metabolite of testosterone, binds to androgen receptors in hair follicles and causes them to shrink. This results in shorter, finer hair, and eventually the follicle stops growing new hair.

  • Stress: Physical or emotional stress can cause hair loss.

  • Other medical conditions: Some medical conditions, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or an enlarged prostate, can lead to hair loss.

  • Illness: Sudden or excessive weight loss, surgery, fever, or the flu can cause hair loss that can last for months.

  • Autoimmune disorders: Some autoimmune disorders can cause scattered bald patches.

Take control of hair loss with our powerful combination of treatments and injections, and stimulate your scalp back into action.
